I went to the interview for the medical illustration opportunity and I am now 1 of 4 who will create 60 images defining the diverse systems of the human body. I can't wait to get started on them, but first it will involve alot of intense research and discipline to get down to a perticular, distinct style in the way that we create the imagery...The images have to be original, but we can take inspiration from previous drawings. We can't copy them form to form though.

This will be a difficult task...
If anyone has any medical photos, images, graphics, etc. that I could get a hold of, I would love to see them...I would be so grateful if you could possibly send them(?) to me...But don't let me be a hastle if its going to get in the way of your possibly already clustered lifestyles.

*Thanks for reading!

*POTENTIAL JOB

Such a great day today, went to my last class of first year uni and had a conversation to the administrator of the uni. Turns out that they've lined up an interview for me with a world famous illustrator/doctor, and if all goes well, I'll have my first graphic job! Apparently he wants someone to do medical illustrations/diagrams to add to a book he is putting together. He's said that the diagrams should be only simple linear drawings that succinctly portray the ideas of medical insides. I haven't got the job yet, but hopefully everything will go well and I'll have something to occupy my time until I go to work for the silos.

*Can't wait til' the interview to meet this guy!

*SELF-PORTRAIT

For uni again, we have just been assigned a project to make a singular self-portrait, expressing what is essentialy 'me' as the individual. I have two weeks to create a portrait of myself, which could be purely metaphoric, or straight-forward as I want. The question really left to ask is, how can you succinctly portray yourself on canvas?

Other people in the class have taken to a more realistic approach in the representation the physical self, rather than the flowing emotions and personality that can really define a person. Subsequently, I think I want to follow that path that would allow for my personality to shine through my work. I don't really know how I will go about it yet, but will just have this journal as a reminder to where I stand and the direction that I want to take.

I think I might do a scene -> create an environment?

*SWITE

I've just been working on a project recently for uni thats confused me to no end. We were given a brief that has told us to promote an object or metaphor of white...

I've approached the brief by researching the cultural meanings of the 'colour' and found that white is acutally a symbol for death in the eastern cultures, but a symbol of purity, innocence and celebration in western culture.

I think (by this contradictory means) that I will create a design that promotes white as an exhibition of interpretations. A ficticious grouping of artwork by a myriad of artist that don't exist, presented in a gallery called *swite gallery or in the unabreviated form -> It's White Gallery.

I was thinking that I might call the exhibition the 'fragrance of white', giving the colour an essence that 'tantalises the senses'. For one of the examples of the work I just got the idea that I should create an artwork that is fixed around the idea that a world of black and white would be chaotic. Things like traffic lights would be turned into destructive tools through this emulation of an illusionary world.

I'm just puttin ideas in my head down to data, as I might forget if I don't

note to self: due date= 1st September .... get cracking!
